What makes you more than your children’s mom?
My special gift for helping others find their passions and happiness makes me more than my children’s mom. Also the fact that I am a daughter, a sister, a wife, a cousin, a niece and a friend. Moms are multi-faceted beings – it’s what makes us special!
How do you balance the role of a mother, wife and business owner?
With lots of support from my spouse, family and friends. There is no such thing as ‘balance’ in my book – it’s more of a juggle! And some days, you will drop ALL the balls. But that’s ok, because tomorrow is a new day. Luckily, kids are forgiving LOL.
How do you make time for yourself and what do you do when you have me time?
I’m realllllly trying to do better with self-care this year. Some non-negotiables for me are: monthly lunch dates with girlfriends, regular nail and hair appointments and exercise. I have to schedule most of it in order to truly make it happen. The lunch dates happen during the week when kids are at school and the beauty/exercise happens when I can steal an hour here and there when Hubby can take over kid duty. I’d love to take more non-work trips!
When was your last “more than a mom moment?
I’m lucky that I have lots of these given my career as a media entrepreneur. My last “more than a mom moment” was a couple of days ago when I attended an Entrepreneur’s Coffee & Croissants Breakfast with female founders in the Washington, DC area. Before that? It was a New Year’s Eve house party with Hubby and friends. I got to wear leather leggings, sequins and red lipstick 😉
Stacey is the epitome of More than a Mom. She’s a mom, a wife, an innovator and a entrepreneur. I have attended her signature event, Blogalicious for the last 6 out of 7 years (One year I was pregnant). It’s amazing and so is she. I appreciate Stacey taking the time to share and hopefully be an inspiration to all the soon-to-be “More Than Moms” out there.
